Destination Profile
More than 1,000 miles north of the Caribbean, Bermuda carves out its own little niche of paradise in the rhythmic waters of the Sargasso Sea. There, it flaunts pink-tinged sands, bays enfolded by craggy rocks, and a countryside covered in mangrove, cedar, and frangipani. The towns are clusters of whitewashed cottages that spill into glitzy yacht marinas. The resorts often come with a world-famous golf course attached. And that's not even mentioning the surrounding ocean, where jagged reefs abound, and the waves spurt with humpback whales. What's more, cheap flights to Bermuda from USA shouldn't take too long – it's only two hours in the air from New York, for example.
From the preserved Tucker House Museum to the 17th-century St Peter's Church, St George's Town is a lovely piece of colonial history in Bermuda.
Horseshoe Bay Beach has pink-tinted sand and seas that are pockmarked by huge boulders of stone – it's an Instagrammer's dream!
Housed in the Royal Naval Dockyard at the tip of the island, the National Museum of Bermuda unravels centuries of enthralling colonial history.
